About this product
The Pioneer DJ DDJ-SB3 is a 2-channel controller optimized for Serato DJ Lite, featuring 16 performance pads for hot cues, loops, and sampler control. It offers FX Fade, filter, and Pad Scratch effects, all in a compact tabletop form factor. With four deck control via layer switching, it's a versatile entry-level unit. Note: no mic inputs and no phono inputs, so it's purely digital. Made in Japan.
Our take
I've been using the DDJ-SB3 for a while and it's a solid entry-level controller. The 16 pads are great for triggering cues and samples, and the FX Fade and filter add some creative flavor. I appreciate the compact size—it fits easily on my desk. However, the lack of any mic input is a bummer if you ever want to announce or MC. Also, no phono inputs means you can't hook up turntables. It's strictly a Serato controller, so you're tied to that software. For the price, you get a reliable, well-built unit, but be aware of its limited connectivity.
