Our take
I got my hands on this used Pioneer DDJ-SR and it feels solid. The 16 pads are responsive, and the FX controls, including combo FX and sampler roll, add nice flexibility. It integrates seamlessly with Serato DJ. The jog wheels are smooth, though they lack the high-res feel of newer models. I appreciate the dedicated mic input for announcements. That said, the unit lacks phono inputs, so vinyl users will need an external preamp. It's a reliable workhorse for Serato fans, but the 44.1 kHz max sampling rate shows its age. If you need modern features, look elsewhere, but for the price, it delivers.
